Distal Posterior Cerebral Artery (P3) Aneurysm: Occipital Interhemispheric Approach (Case Report)
We report a case of a ruptured saccular aneurysm of the distal posterior cerebral artery (P3). The aneurysm was successfuly clipped through an occipital interhemispheric approach and the patient was discharged without any neurological deficit.
متن کاملDistribution of the occipital branches of the posterior cerebral artery. Correlation with occipital lobe infarcts.
The occipital branches of the posterior cerebral artery were examined in 31 human brains. The authors determined the origin, course, and region of supply of each occipital branch: the parieto-occipital, calcarine, posterior temporal, and common temporal arteries, as well as the lingual gyrus artery. These vessels were found in all the brains examined except the lingual gyrus artery, which was p...
متن کاملUnilateral Trans-cerebellomedullary Fissure Approach for Occipital Artery to Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery Bypass during Aneurysmal Surgery
Occipital artery (OA) to the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) bypass is indispensable for the management of complex aneurysms of the PICA that cannot be reconstructed with surgical clipping or coil embolization. Although OA-PICA bypass is a comparatively standard procedure, the bypass is difficult to perform in some cases because of the location and situation of the PICA. We describe...
متن کاملDistal superficial temporal artery to proximal posterior cerebral artery bypass by posterior oblique transzygomatic subtemporal approach.
This article investigates the possibility for the distal superficial temporal artery (STA) to proximal posterior cerebral artery (PCA) direct bypass by subtemporal oblique posterior transzygomatic approach. Five adult cadaveric specimens were dissected. Cadeveric dissection protocol was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. A preauricular vertical skin incision was made, the trunk of STA w...
متن کاملParieto-Occipital Interhemispheric Precuneal Approach to the Lesions of the Atrium: Experience with 66 patients.
AIM The atrium (trigone) is the most common site for intraventricular lesions. The parieto-occipital interhemispheric precuneal approach (POIPA) is one of the particular ways to reach these lesions. The aim of this study was to draw specific attention to the surgical difficulties of these lesions and to present our experience with this operative approach. MATERIAL AND METHODS Sixty-six patien...
